元々は長く勤めれば勤めるほど給料の上がる仕組みを導入して人材流出を防ぐことが
定昇制度の目的だったのだが、今時そんなメリットは無いからもう廃止しましょうねと
いうわけだ。

95年の「新時代の日本的経営」は、非正規雇用で雇用調整しつつ、付加価値の高い
コア業務を正社員が担うことで、従来の日本型長期雇用を維持しようとするものだった。
ただ、早期退職の募集が常に45歳以上を対象に行われているのを見ても明らかなように
現実に長期雇用で育成できた人材は「付加価値が高い」どころか、
「金積み増してでも真っ先に切りたい」人材であるわけで、
時代に沿った適正な判断だろう（遅きに失した感もあるが）。
